ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Are you a high school student in the Shippensburg, PA area? Are you interested in learning how to start your own business? Apply for the the Diller Center Innovation Academy, a free 2-day startup bootcamp where high school students will join teams, meet with expert mentors and facilitators to learn essential skillsets like problem solving, business models, and leadership to develop their own startups ideas. Oh, and there's free food (who doesn't love free food?)!
The theme of the academy is Green Entrepreneurship; students will focus on problems and opportunity areas related to environmentalism, sustainability, and renewable energy.
Agenda
Tuesday, January 21 (8:30 AM - 2:30 PM):
- Learn about brainstorming
- Pitch ideas focused on environmentalism
- Form teams
- Create your first business model
- Talk to customers and work with mentors
Wednesday, January 22 (8:30 AM - 2:30 PM):
- Develop a prototype of your solution
- Learn about different ways to make money and think through your costs
- Spend the rest of the day preparing your final pitch with your team.
- Finish the program strong with your final pitch followed by networking
